Matt is a seasoned attorney and company builder with deep experience at the intersection of law, business, and government. He has served as General Counsel to high-growth companies and provided legal and strategic counsel to multiple successful ventures, including Deliverr ($2B exit) and Strive Asset Management (Nasdaq: ASST).
Matt trained as a corporate attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Cooley, served as Director of Public Policy at Bird during its rapid national expansion, and held a senior role at the U.S. Department of Transportation as Counselor to the Deputy Secretary. He holds a JD/MBA from the University of Chicago and an AB in Economics from Princeton, and was a YC founder (S11) whose company was acquired by Gusto.
Matt works on a fractional and project basis, providing senior-level legal, compliance, and policy leadership without the overhead of a full-time hire.
